Now that’s a quote to live by. That’s exactly what Olivia Baker is doing every day.
“Miss Baker is an amazing special education teacher for emotional behavioral students, kindergarten through fifth grade. She goes out of her way for every student that comes into her class, even after they move forward. She keeps in contact with all of them” says Anonymous.
Spending her days at Highland Elementary school in Owensboro, Kentucky for the past five years, she has been the missing piece to so many families, earning a very special place in the hearts of many.
The nomination was so touching. Showing how much Miss Baker truly means to the people around her. This is the entry we received;
“I would like to nominate Miss Baker for a cake. She is a very special, special education teacher also her class is a emotional support behavioral class room at highland elementary school here in owensboro I have known her several years and 2 of my children with disabilities have been in her class and my friends children have been in her class not only does this teacher go beyond and above for these students. All her students hold a special place in her heart she stays in contact with each and everyone of her kids past or present that have been in her class she sends them letters, phone calls, and paper and supplies and postage stamps, envelopes over summer vacation to make sure everyone stays in contact with her and they can write her back she's always a phone call away ! I could go on and on about why she deserves it she is a very special person, teacher and a friend to everyone she meets and this would make her day ! It takes a special person and alot of love to help so many children and parents and families with children with disabilities she always has a smile and a hug for everyone she meets”
In the short amount of time that I spent with her today I feel truly blessed to of been the one who could gift her a Cake of Appreciation. She definitely deserves it!
